Legendary Spanish player Rafael Nadal has been one of the greatest tennis players of all time. However, being the best means the expectations will always be high for a player like Nadal. Also, the 21-time Grand Slam champion is one of the most popular players on the planet. So, Nadal likes to spend some quiet and pleasant time with his friends and family.
Recently, in a fun interview, the Spaniard talked about his family and friends and many other things.
In an interview with Amstel Ultra, Rafael Nadal had a candid chat where he talked about the importance of family. Also, he talked about living in his home in Mallorca. When asked about the importance of family, Nadal said, “So important that I don’t want to live anywhere else. That’s the truth.”
Then, the interviewer jokingly asked Nadal if he wanted to live in LA. In reply, the Spaniard said, “No, Los Angeles is really far from here (laughs).”
Speaking about his home, Nadal further said, “Peace, family, and getting away from the stress of competition. Because in the end, being in a competition generates a lot of stress. When you get back home, those feelings disappear completely. Living on an island allows me to have a quiet, pleasant life and to disconnect.”
Notably, Nadal also posted this interview on his Instagram story and as an Instagram post. In the caption of the post, Nadal wrote, “How do I spend my time away from the tennis court?… I had a beer and a catch-up with my friends at @AmstelUltra and #Vicemagazine to share a few of my favorite ways to enjoy life when I’m not training or competing… check out the link in my stories to see more…”
We are just a few days away from the start of the main draw at the French Open. The 13-time Roland Garros champion has already started practicing in the courts in Paris. Earlier, there was an injury scare for the Spanish champion player at the Italian Open when he limped off after his match against Denis Shapovalov.
